Raquel Santos

Born in Portugal, Raquel Santos is passionate about investigating climatological extremes and their associated impacts. She began her academic journey at the University of Lisbon, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, Oceanography, and Geophysics, in 2021, followed by a Master’s degree in Geophysical Sciences, concluded in 2024. Her research works primarily focus on the interconnectedness of compound marine and atmospheric climatic hazards. Currently a research fellow at the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere, Raquel continues to explore the impact of climate extremes on natural disasters, showcasing her dedication to understanding and addressing pressing global challenges.
