Dr Akshay Deoras is a Research Scientist at NCAS/University of Reading. His interests lie in subseasonal-to-seasonal (S2S) predictions, land-atmosphere interaction, and dynamics of the South Asian monsoon. He is currently working on a wide range of research projects, focusing on understanding the role of mid-latitudes in the Indian monsoon progression, the role of dry intrusions in modulating breaks in the Indian monsoon, and the role of land-surface conditions in the initiation of convective storms over India. Previously he worked on understanding the predictability and representation of South Asian monsoon low-pressure systems in large multi-model and multi-ensemble datasets.
