Brian Golding

Brian Golding is Met Office Senior Fellow in Weather Impacts, visiting professor at Bristol University and co-chair of the WMO HIWeather project. In a 50-year career at the Met Office, Brian’s research has spanned numerical modelling, nowcasting, flood and ocean wave prediction and weather impacts in a variety of sectors. From 2005-2012 he was Deputy Director of Weather Science. Following retirement from this role, he was awarded the OBE for services to weather forecasting. He current works on designing next generation weather warnings which optimise the whole warnings value chain, from observation and forecast to warning and response.
