VIRTUAL MEETING | MOSAiC : A Year In The Arctic Sea Ice
LOCATION
UPDATE | Registration has now closed.
SPEAKER | Prof. Ian Brooks
ABSTRACT | The MOSAiC (The Multidisciplinary drifting Observatory for the Study of Arctic Climate) project is the largest field study of Arctic climate processes ever undertaken. Based around the icebreaker Polarstern, frozen into sea ice for a full year, it aims to study all aspects of the central Arctic climate system: atmosphere, ocean, sea ice, ecology, and bio-geo-chemistry. Prof Ian Brooks spent the first 3.5 months of MOSAiC in the field. In this talk he will give an overview of the installation and winter measurement campaign - working through the polar night.
