The Royal Meteorological Society Annual Conference 2017 will be held at the University of Exeter in the Forum Lecture Theatre on 13/14 July. The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Weather and Climate Impacts: from research and services to application and policy’.
The annual conference provides a unique opportunity to bring together research scientists, operational meteorologists and industry with an integrated approach that aims to maximise the exchange of knowledge and ideas in meteorology, air quality, climatology, and other related fields through a series of workshops running during the 2-day event.
The theme of the conference is Weather and Climate Impacts and aims to build upon the thriving research community in the UK, and provide a platform for the interdisciplinary community to come together to share recent research and to forge exciting new collaborations. The conference will include a mixture of thought provoking plenary sessions, workshops, and poster sessions aiming to stimulate and foster new ideas around the research, services, technology and communication of weather and climate impacts.
The conference will include three parallel streams of workshop run over the two days with key industry professionals giving keynote talks at the start of each day. Workshop sessions will run throughout the conference to discuss new research opportunities, research gaps, and the application of knowledge and services on a variety of different topics. Alongside this, there will also be the opportunity to present research during two networking poster sessions.
