Weather and Sailing 2024, the joint Royal Institute of Navigation (RIN) and Royal Meteorological Society (RMetS) one-day seminar will take place at the Royal Yacht Squadron in Cowes on the Isle of Wight on Saturday 9th November 2024.
Confirmed speakers lined up to take part in the Seminar include:
Paul Freeman, Tidetech: Wind, wave and current data for marine operations
Dale Smyth, Clipper Race Director: Running the Clipper Round the World Race
Tapio Lehtinen, Ocean Globe Race: Experiences on the 2023 Ocean Globe Race
Anahita Laverack, Oshen: Ocean sensing by sailing drone
Kirsten Neuschafer Interview: Winning the Golden Globe Race
Chris Tibbs, Chris Tibbs Weather: Weather Routing best practice
Cameron Hicks & James Scott, RNLI: Weather factors in RNLI operations
This will be an In-person event only.
Please note there is no parking available at the venue. However, on-street pay and display parking is available, with two disabled parking bays at the bottom of the drive just outside the venue.
Registration
Registration for this event is available in person only and will be open to RMetS, RIN and RYS members until Saturday 17th August. After this date registration will open to all.
Rates
- RMetS/RIN/RYS Member - £60.00
- Non-Members - £72.00
RIN and RYS members will have received an email with a discount code which you will need to add to the ‘please add any further details’ text box when registering.
RMetS Members
If you are a member of the Society and have an account already, please log in to your account before your register. If you are a member and don’t have an account set up already, you will need to create an account. Your username is the email address that is linked to your membership.
Any information you provide to us will only be used by The Royal Meteorological Society and appointed representatives.
