Cosby: Very heavy rainfall early on 15th produced 29.7mm
Rosliston: Only 2 ground frosts was least in May since none recorded in 1999
Middleton: 30th was thesunniest May day on record with 15.2 hours
Derby: 20C not achieved until 23rd May - latest for any year since 1983
Mountsorrel: The 3rd dry month in succession
Pitsford Hall: The driest May in the County since 1998
Desford: Very warm end to month with ground surface becoming dry and dusty
Lowdham: 48mph gust highest for May on Stn record (1996)
